I just graduated

What are my health insurance options after graduating?

Graduating usually ends student health coverage, and a first job may not offer benefits right away or may have a waiting period. Losing that coverage is a qualifying life event, so you have 60 days to enroll in your own marketplace plan, and you can apply before it ends to avoid a gap. Early-career income frequently qualifies for savings that make marketplace coverage cheaper than COBRA or a campus plan extension. Graduation is also the least expensive point in life to lock in term life insurance, and a good time to look at paying down student debt without leaving anyone exposed.
